About naftalan
What naftalan oil is
Naftalan oil is a thick, dark crude oil of unusual composition, extracted around the town of Naftalan. It is not used as fuel; for decades it has been applied in balneological treatment. At the sanatorium the oil is purified, warmed to a set temperature and applied for as long as the doctor prescribes.

Who is naftalan therapy not suitable for?
General contraindications include conditions in an acute phase, pregnancy and breastfeeding, malignant tumours, severe kidney or liver failure, blood disorders, and individual intolerance to naftalan oil. The list is not exhaustive — only the doctor who examines you can decide.
How long does a course last?
Our packages run from 5 to 21 days. Fourteen days is the traditional length for a balneological course, but the doctor decides what suits you after you arrive.
Is my booking confirmed as soon as I send the form?
No. The form sends a request. We record it, check room availability and get in touch. The booking becomes official only once terms are agreed.
When will I hear back about my request?
Usually within 24 hours. Keep the booking reference you receive — you'll need it when you speak to us.
What does the price include?
Accommodation in your chosen room, three meals a day, a medical examination on arrival, and the procedures in your treatment plan. Transfers, excursions and procedures outside the plan are charged separately.
